Add and Assign a Printer to a Terminal

Follow these steps to add and assign a printer to POS terminal(s) through the Manager Portal.

  1. Determine which model of printer you have.
    • TM-M30ii
    • TM-U220b
  2. Locate your printer's MAC address, based on the model of your printer.
    • Find the MAC address for your TM-M30ii printer.
      1. Turn off the printer.
      2. Turn on Printer and quickly hold down feed button.
        ⇒ Result: A piece of paper containing the MAC address should print.
      3. Remove the exclamation point from the display by tapping the feed button once more.
      4. Continue to Step 3.
    • Find the MAC address for your TM-U220b printer.
      1. Turn the printer upside down.
      2. Locate the MAC address under the barcode sticker.
  3. Add the new printer to your Union POS System through the Manager Portal.
    1. Log in to the Manager Portal.
    2. Select the hamburger menu (three lines) in the upper-left.
    3. Select "Settings".
    4. Select "Hardware Setup". 
    5. Select "Printers".
    6. Select "Add New" and fill in the following fields.
      1. Name: Add a name for the printer, following the naming conventions of your other printers.
      2. Model: Choose the Printer Model from the dropdown.
      3. MAC Address: Add the MAC Address found in Step 2.

        > Note: Optionally, you may also select a backup printer and configure multi-venue or cash drawer settings at this time.
    7. Make sure to click the blue checkmark (right side) to save the new printer.
  4. Assign the printer to one or more terminals in the Manager Portal.
    1. Select "Settings". 
    2. Select "Hardware Setup". 
    3. Select "Registers".
      ⇒ Result: This screen should display a list of your terminals (registers).
    4. Edit a terminal's properties by clicking the name of the terminal you wish to add the printer to. 
    5. Next to the station name, select the new printer from the dropdown.
    6. Select "Save". 
  5. Perform a test print from the terminal your printer was just assigned to.
  6. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 to add the new printer to any additional terminals.
    > Note: A printer can be assigned to multiple terminals.
