Troubleshoot Slow Printing Speed
Follow these three steps to determine why your printer may be printing slowly.
- At each POS terminal that has demonstrated slowed printing, check for bad WiFi connections.
- On the POS terminal, close the Union POS app.
- Open the iPad Settings.
- On the left-side menu, select "WiFi".
- On the top-right of the WiFi screen, select "Edit" to review networks.
- Determine if any non-Union WiFi networks are listed:
- If non-Union WiFi networks are present: Select the red minus icon and choose "Delete". Repeat for all non-Union WiFi networks.
- If no other networks are present: Select "Done" or "Cancel".
- Continue to Step 2.
- At the POS terminal, perform an internet speed test via the browser.
- Close the Union POS application.
- Open Safari.
- Type "speed test" in the address bar.
- Select "Run Speed Test" once Google results load.
- If speeds are less than 15 Mbps: Stop troubleshooting and call Support.
- If speeds are 15 Mbps or higher: Continue to Step 3.
- Identify the ethernet cable connected to the printer and search for bends, breaks, or frays in the cable.

- Perform a test print.
